A long block engine is a fully assembled engine that includes the engine block, crankshaft, pistons, cylinder head(s), camshaft(s), valves, and internal components.
It does not include external parts such as the alternator, power steering pump, starter, intake/exhaust manifolds, or accessories. It’s a ready-to-install foundation for a complete engine install. -
A rebuilt or reconditioned engine is your original engine that has been completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and reassembled with new or refurbished components such as bearings, seals, gaskets, and rings. This restores the engine to factory specifications or better, giving long-term reliability and performance.
-
External accessories are components mounted on the outside of the long block, including:
Alternator
Starter
A/C compressor
Power steering pump
Intake and exhaust manifolds
Timing Components
Valve & Timing Covers
Oil Pan
Sensors, wiring harness, and brackets
These components are inspected, but they are not included with the long block or warranty unless otherwise noted.
-
During every engine rebuild or installation, we inspect your external engine accessories — these are the components that bolt onto the outside of the long block (such as the alternator, starter, power steering pump, A/C compressor, sensors, and belts).
After teardown and inspection, we call you with your engine report.
This report includes:Whether your core was rebuildable
What external parts are bad, worn, or not functioning
What parts are recommended to replace
Pricing for each part
Your approval before anything is installed
We always start with parts that are bad or failing, because these components can affect the performance and lifespan of your engine.
If you approve the recommended parts, we install them during the rebuild or installation process and simply add the parts to your remaining balance — no hidden fees, no surprises.
This ensures your engine runs correctly and prevents future breakdowns caused by worn external accessories.
-
A rebuildable core is your old engine that can be disassembled and restored. To qualify, it must have:
No cracked or damaged block
No cracked cylinder heads
No missing major parts
No severe internal damage that prevents machining
If your core is not rebuildable, a core charge will apply to cover the cost of sourcing another engine for the rebuild.
-
If your old engine is seized beyond repair, missing major components, cracked, or damaged beyond machining, you will be charged an additional core fee. This fee varies depending on engine type and availability.
We will inspect your core during teardown and notify you immediately if a charge applies.cription -
Our rebuild process includes:
Complete teardown and internal inspection
Cleaning and machining of the block and heads
Replacement of piston rings, bearings, gaskets, seals.
Precision assembly and torquing to factory specifications
Final testing and quality checks.

No inspections are free.
We visually inspect every vehicle before work begins, once we breakdown the engine we inspect all internals so you understand exactly what needs to be fixed and the total cost. -
If your engine is knocking, overheating, burning oil, has low compression, or has internal mechanical failure, we will inspect it and recommend whether a rebuild or full replacement is the best value for you.
-
Yes. We can install a customer-supplied engine after inspecting it first. Warranty eligibility depends on the condition of the customer-supplied engine.
We do not recommend this for warranty purposes. -
